Cheap airfares are here

Things at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport really aren't beginning to look a lot like Christmas, but don't' let that fool you, if you are buying an airline ticket right now, it's a gift.

Hobbit Travel CEO George Wazniak said fare prices today are the best he's seen in a long time.
"For people that want to travel domestically specifically the airfares are as low as they have been in years right now for September-October travel," Wazniak said.

Typically this is the cheapest time of the year to fly.

Airlines are slashing prices in the fall months just to get you on a plane and those prices could be half of what you would have paid just a month ago.

"The airlines are just saying we are better off getting $150 or $100 than we are running an empty seat," Wazniak said.

Saving money on airfare to Europe

There are many cheap tickets to Europe in the winter but if you really want to save money, try one of these European airlines. I have found for my clients that they can fly into London-Gatwick very cheaply then pick up a connection on Easy Jet to a city in Europe for great savings. For example, Denver to Madrid is $778 roundtrip per person. Compare that to Denver to Gatwick at $320 roundtrip per person. Gatwick to Madrid at $92 roundtrip per person. Total for this itinerary is $412/person. This is a savings of $366/person! Or fly into Beauvais-Paris and pick up a flight on Ryan Air. Other airports are available. Try these airlines for substantial savings on your airfare. Be very careful about your dates and times. You will want to leave yourself 2-3 hours between flights to be sure to get through customs and claim your luggage.

Wesley's long journey

On a sunny afternoon in his family's Sun Valley home, young Wesley Geppert is in the middle of a grand experiment.

People joke about walking while chewing gum, but Wesley's more the ambitious type -- opting to chew gum while eating gummy worms at the same time.

Parents Derick and Trisha Geppert look amused. At the same time, both are simply relieved that their soon-to-be-3-year-old boy seems to be just like other boys.

"He is all boy," said a beaming Trisha Geppert. "He's a very independent little boy with a mind of his own."

For the Gepperts, this happy family scene is the culmination of months of endless worrying, sleepless nights and constant testing and treatments.

It is a life that about 12,500 new families with kids experience each year.

Courier News Online - Report: Agents gave Reggie Bush gifts

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bush and his family appear to have accepted gifts, money and other benefits worth more than $100,000 from two marketing agents while the Heisman Trophy winner was still playing at Southern California, according to a report posted Thursday on Yahoo.com.

The report says Michael Michaels, a marketing agency investor who wanted to represent the football star, and current Bush marketing agent Mike Ornstein lavished Bush and his family with gifts while he was still at USC, each hoping to entice him to sign with them once he left school.

Bush eventually chose Ornstein, which caused a falling out between Michaels and Bush's family.

Speculation over whether Bush and his family received money arose earlier this year in reports that his mother and stepfather didn't pay $54,000 in rent during the year they lived in a house owned by Michaels, who later said the family promised to repay him once Bush went pro.
