| Roadside signs a chance to make drivers do a double-take
A few years ago, Joe Williams got a call at 3 a.m. A pickup had plowed into the sign of his business, Williams Appliance on Route 9 in Ocean View. He jokes that the driver was a Philadelphia Eagles fan exacting revenge. Williams, you see, is a die-hard Giants fan in the heart of Eagles country. And he uses the message board on the sign to post, um, inspirational messages for the community's consumption. Two weeks ago, the sign's north side read, “Giants will get 1st win this week." Last week? He trumpeted the game's final score. “It's something," Williams says, “that is a little needle in the side of the Eagle fans. They're all my friends, though. It's all good-natured." Signs, signs, everywhere signs. Including those owners can use to create personalized messages.
DataDirect Networks Will Showcase Storage Solutions at SEG
DataDirect Networks will showcase its highest performing and most dense storage solutions, the S2A9550 Cluster Solutions and S2A9550 Archive Solution, at this year's SEG (Society of Exploration Geophysicists) International Exposition and 76th Annual Meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana, from October 1st to the 4th. The S2A9550 Cluster Solutions are specifically designed for high performance or high capacity cluster applications for seismic analysis and processing. Delivering up to up to 100 GB/s and petabytes of storage in a single storage solution, this 7th generation solution is designed to provide optimal cluster NAS performance for highly scalable, open system computing environments. The S2A9550 Archive Solution is a combination of its Silicon Storage Appliance (S2A) and a volume metric efficient 48 SATA drive package.
