RESTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 28, 2006--The Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association (KCMA) has developed an Environmental Stewardship Program (ESP) with defined certification requirements to enable cabinet manufacturers to demonstrate their ongoing commitment to sound environmental practices and sustainability. The current good health of cabinet manufacturers and their key suppliers is a reflection of the positive environmental management systems developed over many years. Approximately eighty percent of cabinets today are constructed of wood and wood parts. Virtually all cabinetry combine solid and engineered wood products to produce the many durable, practical and fashionable choices available to consumers today. Sound environmental practices are key to the growth and continued success of this USA/North American-based industry.
