| Great camaraderie between Sandhya and Shabana
HONEYMOON TRAVELS PVT LTD by Reema Kagti brings together some of the best acting talent from the film fraternity, including likes of Shabana Azmi, Naseruddin Shah, Minissha Lamba, Sandhya Mridul, Abhay Deol and Kay Kay Menon and a whole lot more. But Guess who really jelled well on the sets of movie? It was none other then our very own charismatic Shabana Azmi and the girl with the bindaas attitude Sandhya Mridul. The too like-minded actresses got along very well and had a blast on the sets. There was some great camaraderie between them. One who's seen and done it all and the other who's trying to get exactly there. The chemistry between the two was pretty explosive and undeniable with both sharing reciprocated respect amongst each other. There was obviously some difference in generations but yet there was a mutual admiration between both of them.
Man's yard art gives neighbors, visitors reasons to smile
A front-yard sign saying "Agricultural Test Plot" points to the crop in back. Pollard, 73, started it in 2000 - in the spring, of course - and it took nine months to complete. He now has 337 bright, shiny chrome bumpers planted in the ground. "I probably got the biggest bumper crop in the U.S.," he said. "I don't know anybody else got one." But the bumper crop 80 miles east of St. Louis is just one piece of Pollard's acre-and-a-half backyard spectacle. Bus tours actually stop here along Route 37, north of this town of about 7,000, just to look around. "It's a regular tourist attraction," said longtime Salem Mayor Leonard Ferguson. "He has quite a sense of - well, I don't know what you'd say - uniqueness? Very interesting. He has a sharp mind.
Global air fares to dip with new players
NEW DELHI: The overseas traveller's honeymoon with lower air fares seems set for another boost this winter. As many as five new international airlines from across the globe have sought the government nod to cruise into the Indian skies the coming winter, promising to add more zing to the already inmtense competition and bring down air fares to a lower altitude. The new entrants this winter include Air China, Finnair, NOK Air, Condor and EuroFly. "Most of these airlines have secured government nod to operate direct international flights between India and their country of origin. These new flights would be added in the winter schedule of 2006 - peak season for international travel - leading to more intense competition for grabbing passenger loads," said a government official.
UNBEATEN PALERMO FACE DERBY TEST
Sicily is making a major contribution to Serie A this season, with no fewer than three representatives from the island among the 20 top-flight teams. With such a large presence, there are going to be more than a few derby matches this term, the first of which takes place on Wednesday when joint-leaders Palermo host surprise package Catania. Palermo have made a convincing start to the season with wins in their two Serie A games and UEFA Cup to date. Francesco Guidolin's side are beginning to be taken seriously by the top clubs after joining Roma on the top of the pile with a 100% record so far. A 1-0 win over West Ham United in the first round first-leg UEFA Cup tie has increased the club's stock and Guidolin's secret to success appears to have bemused his rivals.
